The Rajshahi Divisional Cultural Academy of Small Ethnic Group organized procession, discussion, prize distribution and cultural program on the occasion of the 163rd Santal Rebellion Day on Saturday afternoon.
A colorful rally set out from the city's C&B mor that ended at the District Arts Academy. After that there was a discussion meeting held.
Rajshahi Additional Deputy Commissioner and Deputy Director of the academy Mohammad Salahuddin presided over the function with Rajshahi Deputy Commissioner SM Abdul Kader as Chief Guest.
Special guest Rajshahi Police Superintendent Shahidullah PPM, member of the academy Ariful Haque Kumar, President of Indigenous Muktimorcha Central Committee Yogendranath Sareen, National Indigenous Peoples General Secretary Sabin Chandra Munda, President of Dighari Raja Parishad, Freedom Fighter Rampesh Sardar were also present on the occasion.
After the discussion meeting, prizes of different contests were distributed. Later cultural events were held.
