Candidates are campaigning in their electoral areas ahead of the Rajshahi City Corporation (RCC) elections.

In the electoral process, councilor candidates and their supporters are trying to convince voters to win the election. Number of voters in Ward-3 is as many as 14,850. In the ward, there are three candidates in the councilor's post.

And among the three candidates, Awami League candidates are ahead in the field of voting. They are - former councilor Awami League's Kamal Hossain, Ward BNP's former president Tajuddin Ahmed Sentu and Ward Jubo League general secretary Mizanur Rahman Swapan.     Besides, Habibur Rahman Habib, the current councilor from BNP, is currently contesting from Awami League.

Candidates contesting in this ward said that if elected, they will work relentlessly on the ward for next day's plan to help everyone for developing the ward.

Kamal Hossain has served as the councilor from 2001 to 2008 in the ward. The former Ward Councilor told, during his tenure, Eidgah, roads and drains have been constructed.

He said that most people in my wards are earning lower income. Ward people are deprived of health care. So keeping in mind the income of the low income, I have already taken initiative to set up a community clinic.

Tajuddin Ahmed Sentu said there are various types of sufferings including water logging, damaged road, and security problem. I want to solve these problems.

Another candidate, Jubo League leader Mizanur Rahman Swapan said the people of the ward are plagued by various problems and I will try to remove the suffering of the common people.

However, the general voters expressed their dissatisfaction about the current councilor Habib, and hoped for a change.
