The 65th founding anniversary of Rajshahi University has been celebrated by singing national anthem, hoisting national flag, procession, discussion and tree plantation.
On the 65th anniversary of the glory, the campus is decorated in different colours. The programmes were inaugurated by vice-chancellor of the university Prof M Abdus Sobhan.
Later, a joyous procession was brought out in the presence of university teachers, students, officials and employees and ended in front of the Senate building after circulating various buildings and roads of the campus.
"Rajshahi University has a glorious history. There will be no anti-state evil power in the campus. On the birthday, I call upon all the teachers and students to vow to resist all the evil powers" said M Abdus Sobhan.
Pro Vice-Chancellor Prof Ananda Kumar Saha, Treasurer Professor Mostafizur Rahman Al Arif, Registrar Professor MA Bari, Proctor Professor Lutfar Rahman, Public Relations Officer Prof Bhushan Kumar Karmakar, dean of different faculties, provost, divisional presidents and students of different departments were present on the occasion.
On July 6, 1953, Rajshahi University was established with 153 students. At present, more than 35 thousand students are studying in the university.
