Trader fined Tk 25,000 for selling meat of sick cow

A mobile court has fined a businessman Tk 25,000 for selling meat of a sick cow in Rajshahi on Sunday.

The deceased was identified as Abu Talha, a resident of Pathanpara area under the Baghmara upazila.

Mobile Court Magistrate Ismail said Talha is a small businessman of the Pathanpara area. He was fined while selling sick cow meat in the market flouting examination of the city corporation.

Later, Abu Talha was sentenced to a fine of Tk 25000, in default to serve seven years in jail, for violation of animal sacrifice and quality control rules, added the magistrate.
