World Population Day was observed through various programs in Rajshahi city and at district levels on Wednesday.
A procession was brought out from the city's Lakshmipur area to observe World Population Day with the theme 'Protected Family Saved Human Rights'.
The procession paraded important streets of the city and the participants attended the discussion and prize distribution program at the Family Welfare Inspector Training Institute.
Rajshahi Divisional Director of Family Planning, Shafiqul Islam presided over the meeting with Rajshahi Divisional Commissioner Noor-ur-Rahman as Chief Guest.
Noor-ur-Rahman said our next generation should study hard so that they get good jobs. Our huge manpower has to be transformed into our resources.
Special guests Deputy Commissioner of Rajshahi SM Abdul Kader, Divisional Director of Health Department Md Anisur Rahman, Senior Assistant Police Superintendent Abdur Razzak Khan, Rajshahi Civil Surgeon Dr. Sanjit Kumar Saha were also present on the occasion.
