Complaint of deterring Bulbul’s supporters

Rajshahi City Corporation (RCC) election campaign began on Tuesday. On the second day, Awami League candidate AHM Khairuzzaman Liton has been accused of violating election code of conduct.

District BNP President Tofazzal Hossain Topu said, on the opening day of the campaign, party candidate Mosaddek Hossain Bulbul's banner, festoons and posters have been removed from various places on Tuesday night. Liton's supporters were also attacked on campaign pick-up van.

Five BNP workers were arrested from ward-13 on Tuesday night. They are Shafiqul Islam, Jishan, Jabbar, Shawon and Bulbul. They have been sued for sabotage.

“We will make a written complaint to the Returning Officer of the election, referring to the allegations of violation of other rules, Topu said

Meanwhile, RCC Returning Officer Syed Amir Ali said, "We have asked the Metropolitan Police to take necessary steps to arrest the accused. However, the election rules are good. There was no news of any untoward incidents anywhere. If there is a complaint, that will be looked into.
