Presiding Officer dies during counting of votes

An Assistant Presiding Officer died of heart attack during the counting of votes in Rajshahi City Corporation (RCC) election.

This incident took place during the counting of votes of RCC election in Chhota Bongram Government Primary School on Monday evening.

The deceased was identified as Khalequzzaman, 55. He was Deputy Assistant Agriculture Officer of Paba Upazila.

Khalequzzaman was in charge of the Assistant Presiding Officer of 89 voting centres at Choto Bongram Government Primary School, Ward no. 19.

Confirming the matter, Presiding officer of the centre, Aminul Islam, said that he died on the way while taking him to Rajshahi Medical College Hospital (RMCH) after his heart attack.
