A man reportedly committed suicide failing to pay debt in Charghat upazila of Rajshahi.
The deceased, Ashadul, found hanging on Tuesday night in Anupampur village under the upazila.
Ashadul's wife Tuni Begum said her husband was a drug addict. He took loan of Tk 30 thousand from Padakkhep, Tk 20 thousand from Krishi Bank and Tk 20 thousand from the Rural Bank.
There was a repayment burden of about Tk 1,700 per week. To pay the installment, he took Tk 8 thousand from Azizul of the same village and Tk 8,000 from Belal's wife.
There were often quarrels with the lenders over repayment. He might have committed suicide for these reason.
A UD case has been filed in this connection with Charghat Model Police Station, OC Nazrul Islam said.
