Human chain demand building state friendly for indigenous

A human chain was formed on the occasion of International Day of the World's Indigenous Peoples on the Rajshahi University (RU) campus on Wednesday.

Rajshahi city unit of Adivasi Chhatra Parishad of RU and Chittagong Hill Tracts organized the programme in front of the university's martyr memorial plaque around 10:30 am.

The human chain demanded constitutional recognition of indigenous people, independent ministry for the indigenous people, the formation of the Land Commission, implementation of Chittagong Hill Tracts Accord, quota in education, employment, to stop torture, murder, rape, kidnapping of indigenous people to build a friendly state.

Adivasi Chhatra Parishad President Ratish Topp presided over the human chain.
Chittagong Hill Tracts Chhatra Parishad RU unit Vice-President Arun Bikash Chakma, Adivasi Chhatra Parishad Office Secretary Subhash Chandra Hembram, former President Bibhuti Bhushan Mahato of Adivasi Vidyarthi Parishad, present president Nakul Pahan and General Secretary Tarun Munda were also present.
