RU Anti-Repression Students postpone movement

General students of Rajshahi University (RU) postponed an anti-repression protest and put up 6-point demand in protest against attacks on students in the ongoing movement.

They revealed the demands at a press conference on Thursday afternoon on a lawn behind the university's central library.

The demands of the protesters are: to ensure safe road, to fulfill the demands of the ongoing movement of the students including resignation of Shipping Minister Shahjahan Khan, who are involved with the barbaric attacks on students, unconditional release and cancellation of remand of photographer Shahidul Alam and the detained students, withdrawal of the cases against them, to give appointment letter - identity card and training to drivers and staff, to determine their working hours and salary structure, proper treatment for those who have been injured in the movement.

Afroquunnahar Tania, a student of the Fine Arts faculty, read the written statement at the press conference on behalf of the anti-repression movement.

Rumman, a student of the department of Political Science, Ariful Islam, department of Social Work, Shakila Khatun, department of Fine Arts, were also present on behalf of the protesters.
