Finally, Bagha Upazila Chakrajapur High School has gone under the Padma water, leaving more than six hundred students in uncertainty over their education.
Abdus Sattar, headmaster of Chakjapur High School, said that during the last 14 years, the school and the Chakrajapur market were shifted three times.
Chakrajapur union chairman Azizul Azam and Pakuria union chairman Fakhrul Hasan Bablu said that many thousands of families of their areas have lost livelihood in Padma erosion.
Upazila Nirbahi Officer Shahin Reza said, the Water Development Board has been informed about the erosion. It has also been instructed to remove the school elsewhere.
The school was moved to Kalidaskhali Mauja due to collapse of the school in 2012. In the year 2015-2016, the Local Government Engineering Department constructed a school building at the cost of Tk 78 lakh. Earlier, also in 1998, the school and market fell in the river.
