Detective Branch (DB) of Rajshahi Metropolitan Police (RMP), Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) and RMP Police arrested at least 7 people with huge drugs from different areas in Rajshahi on Sunday.
Suman, BCL Joint secretary of ward number 13 was arrested. RMP DB police SI Mahbub Hasan said, on tip off, Suman was detained with 15 pieces of Yaba from a shop in front of the New Market gate.
RAB arrested a young man named Abdul Halim on Sunday with 800 grams in his house at Raghunathpur area of Godagari on Sunday. He is a resident of Raghunathpur area of the upazila and was involved in heroin peddling. A case was filed against him under the Narcotics Control Act.
RAB has arrested four people with 1035 bottles of Phensidyl in Rajshahi. On Sunday morning, they were arrested and detained at Chowdhury Filling Station in Barabganj Sheikhpara area of the city. At that time, two stone filling trucks were seized.
The detainees are Suezan, 28, Firoz, 25, Shafiuddin Palu, 48, and Sajib Mia, 26, of Dhamrai's Boro Jathail area in Barbarazar area of Barbarazar, Meherpur.
The law enforcers have been sent to Shah Makhdum Police Station, said RAB.
