Drug peddler kills young man

A drug seller has stabbed a young man to death for protesting at drug sale in Bagmara of Rajshahi.

The victim was identified as Milon, 25, son of Khalilur Rahman of Mohanpur village under Kachari Koalipara union of the upazila.

On the Eid day, Milon had a scuffle with drug peddler Jewel Rana, 25, a resident of Mohanpur village, after he asked Jewel no to sell drugs in the area.

On Friday, Jewel stabbed Milon with a knife at Mohanpur. Locals took Milon to Bagmara Upazila Health Complex. The on-duty doctor declared him dead.

Bagmara Police said the body will be sent to Rajshahi Medical College Hospital (RMCH) for autopsy. The father of the victim filed a murder case with the police station, he added.
