Missing farmer’s body found in Padma

A missing farmer’s body was found in Padma river one day after he drowned as a boat capsized in the river near Bagha upazila in Rajshahi.

The farmer was identified as Barik Khan, 50, son of late Waheed Khan, a resident of Chandjapur Char of Padma.

Barik went missing on Tuesday during a boat capsize near Chakrajapur area around 4:30 pm on Tuesday.

His body was recovered from the river on Wednesday evening, Chakrajpur union chairman Azizul Azam confirmed.

Bagha Upazila Nirbahi Officer Shahin Reza said, divers were informed to rescue missing Barik. The locals recovered the body on the spot some time before the arrival of the divers.
