Police arrested Puthia upazila vice-chairman who is also upazila Jamaat ameer, and Zuepara union council chairman along with two Islami Chhatra Shibir activists in sabotage cases in Puthia of Rajshahi on Thursday night.
They were arrested separately in Puthia Sadar union, Zuepara Union and Sylmaria Union.
The detainees are: Ahmed Ullah, Puthia Upazila Parishad Vice-Chairman and Upazila Jamaat Amir, Shamim Reza, 32, son of Jamaat leader Ruhul Amin and chairman of the Zuepara Union Parishad, Shibir activist Humayun Kabir, 22, son of Mozammel Haque of Kandra village of Puthia Union, Shibir activist Ashraful Islam, son of Akkas Ali of Kandra area.
Puthia police station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Shakil Uddin Ahmed said all Jamaat-Shibir activists were involved in the sabotage case with the police station. They were sent to jail through the court.
