Bangladesh Krishak League (KL), an associate body of ruling party Awami League, has opened 10 hotline numbers in a bid to help farmers to harvest their corps across the country amid coronavirus outbreak.
Besides this, leaders and activists of the organization will also assist farmers in cutting paddies from their field.
KL President Shamir Chanda told the Daily Observer that every year during the Boro paddy harvesting period farmers face shortage of agricultural workers.
“This year they are facing deep crisis of workers because of coronavirus. So, KL has decided to stand beside the farmers and working to mitigate the farmer’s sufferings,” he said
Chanda further said, “We have set ten teams across the country giving priority of haor, water body based areas. More than hundreds of KL leaders and activists are working in every team to assist farmers. Every team has respective hotline number”.
