
Suspended Teknaf police station officer-in-charge Pradeep Kumar Das and six other accused in Major (retd) Sinha Mohammad Rashed Khan murder case have been put on a four-day fresh remand.
Cox's Bazar Senior Judicial Magistrate Tamanna Farah passed the remand order on Monday.
Earlier, the investigation officer of the case produced them before the court on completion of their seven days' remand.
The other accused are: inspector Liyakat Ali and SI Nanda Dulalpolice constables Safanur Karim, Kamal Hossain, Abdullah Al Mamun and ASI Liton Mia and three witnesses Md Aias, Nurul Amin and Nazim Uddin.
Assistant superintendent of police (ASP) M Khairul Islam, the IO of the case, said the Pradeep, Liakat and Nanda Dulal have given vital information.
"They were taken on a four-day remand to examine the information for further investigation," he said.
On July 31 night, Major (retd) Sinha Mohammad Rashed Khan was killed in police firing at a checkpost at Shamlapur area under Baharchhara union along the Cox's Bazar-Teknaf Marine Drive.
Later, his sister filed a case where she made Baharchhara Investigation Centre's Inspector Liakat Ali as prime accused and Teknaf Police Station OC as the accused number two. Besides, seven more policemen were made accused in the case.
Senior ASP Khayrul Islam, also RAB's investigation officer of the case, Director of Legal and Media wing Lt Col Ashik Billah, Director of Intelligence wing Lt Col Md Sarwar-Bin-Quasem and others were present at the spot.
