
The inquiry committee formed by the Ministry of Home Affairs will question suspended Teknaf police station officer-in-charge (OC) Pradeep Kumar Das on Wednesday in Major (Retd) Sinha Mohammad Rashed Khan killing case.
The committee deferred the submission of their inquiry report twice as they could not question OC Pradeep.
Meanwhile, Pradeep was sent to jail after his remand was over for the fourth time.
It is learnt that Pradeep abstained from disclosing much of the information during his 15-day remand.
Earlier, a court in Cox's Bazar on Tuesday ordered to send OC Pradeep to jail on completion of his remand for the fourth phase.
Before that, Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) produced him before the court of Cox's Bazar Senior Magistrate Tamanna Farah.
OC Pradeep is the number 2 accused in Major (Retd) Sinha Md Rashed Khan murder case.
"OC Pradeep gave us important information during interrogation in custody for 15 days. Tuesday was the last day of one-day remand in the fourth phase," said investigation officer of the case ASP Khairul Islam of RAB 15.
On August 6, OC Pradeep Kumar Das and six other accused in Major (Retd) Sinha Mohammad Rashed Khan murder case were put on a seven-day remand.
Later, the court granted four-day remand for him on August 24, three-day remand on August 28 and one-day remand on August 31.
On July 31 night, Major (retd) Sinha Mohammad Rashed Khan was killed in police firing at a checkpost at Shamlapur area under Baharchhara union along the Cox's Bazar-Teknaf Marine Drive.
Later, his sister filed a case where she made Baharchhara Investigation Centre's Inspector Liakat Ali as prime accused and Teknaf Police Station OC as the accused number two. Besides, seven more policemen were made accused in the case.
