Barrister Rafique-ul-Huq laid to rest

Former Attorney General and senior lawyer of the Supreme Court Barrister Rafique-ul-Huq was laid to rest at the capital's Banani Graveyard on Saturday afternoon.

He was buried beside the grave of his wife around 3pm after holding the third namaz-e-janaza on the Supreme Court Bar Association premises.

The noted jurist died at about 8:30am today at Ad-Deen Hospital at Moghbazar in the capital.

The first funeral prayer was held at Ad-Deen Women's Medical College Hospital and the second one at Baitul Mukarram National Mosque.

President M Abdul Hamid and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina have expressed profound shock and sorrow at the death.
