ASP Shipon’s death: Dr Mamun secures bail

A Dhaka court on Sunday granted bail to National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH) registrar Dr Abdullah Al Mamun in a case filed following the death of Senior ASP Anisul Karim Shipon.

Dhaka Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Diman Chandra Mandal passed the order following an appeal hearing of Dr Mamun’s lawyer.

The court granted him bail on Tk 10,000 bail bond.

It is learnt that Anisul Karim Shipon had been suffering from severe mental illness. He died at Mind Aid Hospital on November 9 after he was admitted there.

On the following day, his father filed a murder case with Adabar Police Station.
