Housewife raped in Barguna

Police arrested a man at Taltali upazila in Barguna district in a case filed over rape of a housewife.

Arrested Jalal Mridha, 50, is the step brother-in-law of the victim.

The victim filed a case with Taltali Police Station on Friday.

According to the case statement, Mridha took the victim to a paddy field in Chaulapara area on Thursday evening when she was going to her grandmother’s house and raped her.

Police arrested Mridha and sent him to jail following a court order.

The Police Station officer in-charge (OC) Md Kamruzzaman Mia confirmed the matter on Saturday afternoon.
