UP member killed in Patuakhali road accident

A union parishad member was killed in a road accident in Patuakhali’s Dumki upazila on Thursday night.

The deceased was identified as Alamgir Hossain Mridha, 58, Ward No- 9 member of Shrirampur union parishad.

Locals said a motorcycle hit Alamgir on Dumki-Bauphal road at 10.00pm, leaving him critically injured. He succumbed to his injuries on way to Sher-e-Bangla Medical College Hospital.

Police have detained motorbike driver Rubel Qazi, 28, after the accident.

Dumki Police Station OC Mehedi Hasan confirmed the matter.
