Election at 24 municipalities ends amid sporadic incidents

First phase of election at 24 municipalities ended on Monday afternoon with some sporadic incidents at some districts.

Voting began at 8am with a peaceful manner which ended at 4pm with incidents of vandalism, vote boycott.

A group of youths vandalised the car of returning officer Md Alamgir in Panchagarh, according to our correspondent reports.

BNP-backed mayor candidate Dewan Nazim Uddin Manzu boycotted the election bringing allegation of vote rigging.

No BNP agents were seen at polling centres in Sirajganj's Shahzadpur.
