The Parliament on Tuesday unanimously adopted a motion thanking Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina for receiving the 'Planet 50-50 Champion' and 'Agent of Change Award' during the UNGA session in New York recently, thus bringing 'rare honour' for the country and the nation.
Senior treasury bench lawmaker Sheikh Fazlul Karim Selim MP from Gopalganj-2 moved the thanksgiving motion and initiated a special discussion as per the Rules of Procedure 147 (1) in Parliament.
UN Women recognized the Prime Minister as a "Planet 50-50 Champion", while Global Partnership Forum handed over the "Agent of Change Award" to her at a high-level reception at the UN Plaza on September 21.
