Missing farmer's body recovered from Natore pond

Police recovered the body of an elderly farmer, who went missing on Saturday afternoon from his house, was recovered from a pond in Gurudaspur upazila of Natore district on Sunday morning.

The deceased was identified as Sirajul Islam, 70, a resident of Gopinathpur village under the upazila.

Gurudaspur police station officer-in-charge Monowaruzzaman said locals saw the body floating in the pond at Nazirpur Natunpara area in the morning and informed police.

Being informed, police rushed there and recovered the body from the spot.

The body was sent to Natore Sadar General Hospital morgue for autopsy and investigation is underway in this regard, the OC added.
