At least 15 killed as two trains collide in Bhairab

At least fifteen people were killed and several others injured after a passenger train and a container train collided at Bhairab railway station in Kishoreganj district on Monday afternoon.

Eye witnesses said the container train headed towards Chattogram collided with the Dhaka-bound Egarosindhur Express around 3pm at Jagannathpur crossing.

At least fifteen bodies were recovered from the wreckage and the death toll could increase, said Abdul Alim Sikder, officer-in-charge of the police station.

Many people have been stuck under the wheels of the train. On information fire fighters rushed to the spot and engage in rescue operation.
