Shahbagh PS to be relocated

Shahbagh Police Station will be relocated behind Sakura Bar of Bangladesh Parjatan Corporation (BPC) soon to facilitate completion of Shadhinata Atambha construction.

The Cabinet at its weekly meeting on Monday approved a proposal of the Home Ministry to relocate the police station.

The proposal was sent to the Cabinet following Liberation War Ministrys demand to facilitate completion of Shadhinata Stambha project at Suhrawardy Udayan in the capital.

The decision to relocate the police station was  approved in the Cabinet meeting chaired by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina at her office in the capital.

The meeting over, Cabinet Secretary Md Mahbub Hossain said, Shahbagh Police Station  needs relocation to complete construction of the Swadhinata Stambha (Independence Monument) in historic Suhrawardy Udyan.
