A team comprising Narayanganj district administration and the Integrated Anti-Corruption Commission of the district seized the house worth around Tk 10 crore in line with a court order on Saturday afternoon.

Narayanganj Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Mahmudul Haque, Additional Deputy Commissioner (Revenue) Md Shafiqul Alam, Rupganj Upazila Executive Officer Md Ahsan Mahmud Russell, Deputy Director of the Narayanganj Integrated Office of the Anti-Corruption Commission Moinul Hasan Rawshani and members of the law enforcing agencies were present during the drive.

ACC official Moinul Hasan confirmed the matter saying that the house was built in 2022, and the former IGP used to visit and stayed overnight when he was in the country.

He said for constant security two dogs were kept along with a caretaker at the bungalow.

Earlier on June 12, a Dhaka court ordered to seize many more properties including the duplex house of the former IGP following a petition submitted by the ACC.  Subsequently, the court appointed the Deputy Commissioner as the receiver to oversee the house.
