VCs of DU, SUST resign

Dhaka University (DU) Vice Chancellor Prof ASM Maksud Kamal and Shahjalal University of Science and Technology (SUST) Vice Chancellor Prof Farid Uddin Ahmed resigned from their respective positions on Saturday.

They in their resignation letters cited personal reasons for stepping down from the positions.

Besides, Provost Nelofar Parvin of Ruqayyah Hall, Lafifa Jamal of Shamsun Nahar Hall, Abdul Bashir of Bijoy Ekattor Hall, Mohammad Bellal Hossain of Muktijoddha Ziaur Rahman Hall, Md Akram Hossain of Jatir Janak Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Hall, Prof Md Abdur Rahim of Shahid Sergeant Zahurul Huq Hall and Md Iqbal Rouf Mamun of Salimullah Muslim Hall of DU also resigned from their posts on Saturday.

Rajshahi University Vice Chancellor Prof Golam Sabbir Sattar, Pro-VCs Prof Sultan-Ul-Islam and Prof Humayun Kabir, Students Adviser Prof Jahangir Alam Saud, Public Relations Administrator Prof Pradip Kumar Pandey and 12-member Proctorial Body, including Proctor Prof Asabul Haque resigned on Thursday.

On the same day, Islamic University (IU) Vice Chancellor Prof Shaikh Abdus Salam resigned from his position.

DU Proctor Prof M Maksudur Rahman and 13 assistant proctors resigned from their posts on Thursday.

All members of the SUST Proctorial Body, hall provosts and assistant provosts submitted their resignation letters to the university Registrar on Thursday.

On Wednesday, Jahangirnagar University (JU) Vice Chancellor Prof Nurul Alam resigned from his post, citing personal and family-related reasons.     

On Tuesday, Sher-e-Bangla Agricultural University (SAU) Vice Chancellor Prof Md Shahidur Rashid Bhuiyan, Pro-Vice Chancellor Prof Alok Kumar Paul and Proctor Prof Md Harun-ur-Rashid resigned from their respective posts.

Students on different campuses where attacks took place on protesters of Quota Reform Movement have been demanding resignation of university administrations and all authorities concerned for failing to ensure students' safety.
