Defeated force hatching conspiracy: Tarique

BNP Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman said on Wednesday, "The defeated force is conspiring against the people and destroying the reputation of BNP."

Speaking at a rally virtually at Suti VM Pilot Model Government High School ground in Gopalpur, Tangail he said "Though the dictatorship is gone, their ghosts are still roaming around us. They are spreading  confusion. They are involved in various unethical activities against the country. "Shaheed Zia's soldiers' responsibility is to stop them," he added.

He said there will be no gain out of  this conspiracy. The democracy-loving people of Bangladesh will build resistance against the conspirators and give a befitting reply to them.

Tarique Rahman was addressing a public rally at Gopalpur Upazila of Tangail district,  virtually. He said BNP's goal is to ensure political freedom and  economic emancipation of the people.

Tarique said, BNP's politics aims at  economic development and raising production. if we come to power getting the public mandate in election, we will develop the whole country.

He said the dictator has been overthrown by the people. Tarique Rahman demanded the release of all opposition leaders and activists including Abdur Salam Pintu of BNP, who have been t detained in jail in 'false' cases.

The rally was organized by Gopalpur Upazila and Municipal BNP demanding the withdrawal of false cases and unconditional release of all BNP leaders and activists, including Vice-Chairman of the party's Central Executive Committee, former Deputy Minister Abdus Salam Pintu. 

Upazila BNP president Khandkar Jahangir Alam Rubel presided over the rally.

Tarique Rahman said, "if we can form a government we will take initiative to export Tangail's sarees, chamcham, jute products, pineapples and caps." Ahmed Azam Khan Vice President of BNP said that, "For 17 years we could not speak freely. Today we are speaking freely demanding release of Pintu."

"Tarique Rahman and Pintu were punished in the false August 21 grenade attack case. Mufti Hannan gave the proof. Govt interrogated Mufti Hannan 472 times. He denied Tariq Rahman and Pinti's involvement 472 times. Eventually the government executed him."

BNP Publicity Secretary Sultan Salauddin Tuku said that, under the leadership of Abdus Salam Pintu, Tangail today has become the stronghold of BNP. He has tied Tangail and BNP together."

"The freedom of the country today is incomplete without the release of Tarique Rahman and Abdus Salam Pintu," said Tuku.
