Bandarban, Sept 20: Members of the Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) recovered a large quantity of firearms, ammunition, a drone, a signal jammer, and electronic equipment during a raid in the Dopanichara deep forest area on Friday.
Acting on intelligence, the BGB conducted the operation in the Dopanichara border area under Ruma Upazila, according to a BGB press release. The raid was led by Lieutenant Colonel Hasibul Huq, Commander of BGB's Ruma Battalion.
During the raid, the BGB team identified a terrorist camp and recovered firearms, explosives, and other equipment from the site.
The recovered weapons include two automatic carbine assault rifles, one semi-automatic assault rifle, three single-barrel breach-loading (SBBL) firearms, 21 rounds of live ammunition, a modern drone, a modern signal jammer, an audio-video recorder, a video camera, a modern intelligence button camera, a hidden video recorder, a pair of binoculars, two walkie-talkies, a laptop, two powerful lights, a solar system, a Sky TV receiver, an umbrella, two Android phones, two button phones, and various other items including locally made sharp weapons.
During the anti-terrorist operation, the BGB team also destroyed an observation post, trench, temporary armoury, rest house, and kitchen used by the terrorist group within the forest.
