Patrick Fischler, the “Mad Men”

Patrick Fischler having more than 60 television and film credits, played real life gangster Mickey Cohen in L A Noire video game must be celebrating his birthday today, 29th December with joy and hope.
The casting directors of L A Noire video game worked on "Mad Men" and for the Cohen character they approached Fischler. Fischler likes the film noir genre and hence, he accepted the offer. In Fischer's words, "You really get to act in those scenes because they're capturing every moment on your face. A slight smile! A small frown! Everything!"
He co-funded Neurotic Young Urbanites theatre group. Then in the theatre group, an agent approached him regarding the action film Speed while he was performing there. However, even though he guest starred on various television series, he finally gained exposure with the role in "Mad Men".
Being a fan of AMC drama series "Mad Men", Fischler gave an audition for insult comic "Jimmy Barrett". He was commented on as "breathtakingly good" by Alex Witchel who is a writer from The New York Times Magazine and who also sat in to see Fischler's audition. The character that has made him gain exposure is called Jimmy Barrett who happens to be a client. The show has an advertising company and Jimmy is a client of that company. The protagonist is Don Draper and Jimmy's wife sleeps with him. Having a "New York Quality" Fischler was chosen to be casted by Executive Producer Matthew Weiner.
In 2009, Fischler was a reappearing cast member on the NBC drama "Southland". He also appeared in the ABC TV series "Lost". He had to repeatedly fly back and forth between Los Angeles and Hawaii because instantly after the pilot for "Southland" was made he was casted in TV series "Lost". Therefore, he had to work on both the shows within six months. He was also handling his wife's pregnancy at that time. He did not compromise his personal life because of the professional life.
The comedy movie Dinner for Schmucks (2010) had Fischler too. He played as Vincenzo who was one of the guests at a dinner. In that dinner party rich people bring unconventional guests and then they compete with each other. The competition is about who can bring the weirdest and biggest loser. Fischler's character pets a vulture in the film. He also spits food and throws directly at its mouth. That is how he feeds him. Fischler also played ATF Agent Hammond and appeared in Red State in 2011.
Then In January 2012, One for the Money which is a crime thriller film had Fischler. Featuring Stephanie Plum the first in a series it was adapted from novel of the same name (1994) by Janet Evanovich. A bail bondsman Vinnie Plum and cousin of Stephanie Plum's cousin were portrayed by him. He also portrayed poet Lew Welch in film Big Sur in 2013 which was based on the autobiographical novel by Jack Kerouac. Recently Fischler has appeared in the TV show "Once Upon a Time".
