CHITTAGONG, Dec 30: Visitors will be not be allowed to stroll on the Patenga and Parki sea beaches in Chittagong after 5pm on December 31 as part of security measures heightened for the New Year's Eve.
In a media statement issued on Friday, Chittagong Metropolitan Police have asked the people to close events at popular hangout spots of the port city such as Foy's Lake, DC Hill, Agrabad and Kazir Deurhi Children's Park by 6pm on that day.
No vehicle will be allowed on the Airport-Patenga Road after 7pm except those carrying passengers to and from the airport.
To hold any programme on the grounds or on the roads, prior permission has to be secured, the CMP said. Use of crackers, fireworks and firearms are prohibited from Saturday 8pm to Sunday 5am.
