2 robbers held in Faridpur

Police arrested two alleged robbers along with a truck loaded with soyabean oil at Bhanga upazila in Faridpur district on Monday night.

The arrested men are Zewel Hossain, 30, a resident of Aladin Bazar area under  Galachipa upazila in Patuakhali district and Md Sabbir Ahmed, 32, a resident of Sonargaon upazila in Narayanganj district.

Acting on a tip-off, police conducted drives at Pagla area and Sonargoan area of Narayanganj district and arrested the duo.

Police also seized 37 barrel of soyabean oil worth Tk 12,02,500 and a truck worth Tk 35 lakh from their possessions.

Bhanga Police Station sub-inspector (SI) Mosharof Hossain confirmed the incident and said that a robbery case has been filed in this regard.
