The Bangladesh Air Force (BAF) has formally inaugurated the newly installed GM 403M Air Defence Radar at its Bogura Radar Unit, marking a significant step in enhancing the country's aerial surveillance and defence capabilities.

Chief of Air Staff of Bangladesh Air Force Air Chief Marshal Hasan Mahmood Khan attended the inauguration ceremony on Wednesday as the chief guest and officially commissioned the radar system into service, according to a statement issued by the Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR).

As part of the ongoing modernization and development efforts, the Bangladesh Air Force has been steadily expanding its infrastructure and acquiring cutting-edge technologies. The installation of the GM 403M radar is a continuation of these initiatives and represents a major upgrade to the BAF's operational assets.

With the solemn pledge to "keep the sky of Bangladesh free," the induction of this radar system is expected to significantly boost the force's air surveillance, early warning, and threat detection capabilities. The GM 403M radar, known for its precision and range, will further strengthen national airspace security and technological edge.
