BSF hands over 15 Bangladeshis to BGB after flag meeting at Satkhira border

In a flag meeting held on Wednesday (October 1) evening at the zero line of Satkhira’s Taluigachha border, the Border Security Force (BSF) of India handed over 15 detained Bangladeshi nationals to Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB).

The meeting took place between the company commander of India's Hakimpur BSF camp and the commander of the Taluigachha BGB Border Outpost (BOP).

Following the handover, the BGB transferred the repatriated individuals to the custody of Satkhira Sadar Police Station later that night.

According to the BGB, the 15 Bangladeshis were detained by the BSF around 10 PM on Tuesday from Hakimpur check-post area in India. After diplomatic procedures, they were returned to Bangladesh. The group includes men, women, and children, who are residents of Koyra, Dumuria, and Maharajpur areas in Khulna.

Satkhira Sadar Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Shaminul Haque, confirmed it an said that their identities will be verified before they are handed over to their respective families.
