Missing child's body recovered in Bagerhat enclosure

Police recovered the body of a missing child from a fish enclosure at Chitalmari upazila of Bagerhat district on Saturday morning.

The deceased was identified as Nayon Shikder, 5, son of Mosharaf Shikder of Surigati village in the upazila.

According to family members, Nayon went missing at around 9 AM on Friday.

After searching, family could not find him.

Following the incident, Nayon’s mother filed a general diary with Chitalmari Police Station regarding his disappearance.

Later, a local man named Akash Halder discovered the child’s body while working at his uncle’s fish enclosure at around 7 AM and informed police.

Being informed, police reached the spot, recovered the body and sent it to Bagerhat General Hospital morgue for an autopsy.

Chitalmari Police Station officer-in-charge (OC) Rokeya Khanam confirmed the incident and said that further legal action will be taken based on the autopsy report.
