Teen killed in Bagerhat road mishap

A teenage boy was killed in a road mishap at Fakirhat upazila of Bagerhat district on Sunday morning.

The deceased was identified as Samirul Islam, 11, son of Saiful Islam of Cumilla district. Samirul worked at a welding workshop.

According to locals, the incident occurred when a passenger bus ran over Samirul on the Khulna-Mongla highway in Katakhali while he was crossing the road, leaving him seriously injured.

Later, locals took him to Fakirhat Upazila Health Complex where the on-duty doctors declared him dead.

Katakhali highway police station officer-in-charge (OC) Zafor Ahmed confirmed the incident and said that the bus has been seized but the driver managed to flee.
