Man killed in Bagerhat road crash

A man was killed after being hit by an unidentified vehicle while returning home in Fakirhat upazila of Bagerhat district on Friday morning.

The deceased was identified as Jamshed Sheikh, 62, son of late Fazlul Rahman of Mulghar village in the upazila. Jamshed was a farmer by profession.

According to locals, Jamshed was returning home on his motorcycle at around 8 AM after selling betel leaves and betel nuts at Balidokan Bazar in Piljang.

The incident occurred on the Khulna–Dhaka Highway when he was crossing the highway near Sadherbot tola, a speeding vehicle struck him, which caused him to fall onto the road and he died on the spot.

When contacted with Mollahat Highway Police Station officer-in-charge (OC) Md Asaduzzaman Howlader, he said that he was not informed about the incident.
