Navy warship opens for public display in Bagerhat

Bangladesh Navy opened one of its warships to public at the Digraj Naval Berth in Mongla upazila of Bagerhat district on Friday, in celebration of Armed Forces Day.

The naval ship BNS Abu Bakkar was open for visitors from 2 PM until evening. Large crowds of people from different professions and ages gathered to see the warship and its equipment.

Navy personnel briefed visitors about the Navy’s role in safeguarding Bangladesh’s sea territory and operational capabilities of the warship.

A special documentary highlighting the contribution of the Armed Forces during the Liberation War was screened on board. Additionally, essay writing and drawing competitions were held at Navy School and College to mark the significance of Armed Forces Day.
