Youth found dead in N’ganj river

Police recovered the body of a youth from the bank of the Haridoa River, a branch of the Meghna River, at Uchitpur union under Araihazar Upazila of Narayanganj district on Monday evening.

The deceased was identified as Mohammad Anarul, 26, son of Bachchu Mia from Darigaon village in Bijoynagar area in the upazila. He was a bricklayer by profession.

According to sources, locals discovered the body near the riverbank and informed police.

Being informed, police reached the spot, recovered the body and sent it to Narayanganj General Hospital morgue for an autopsy.

Araihazar Khagkanda River Police Outpost in-charge Shamim Ahmed confirmed the death and said that exact cause of death will be determined after receiving the autopsy report.
