Two motorcyclists killed in road accident in Rajbari

RAJBARI, Jan 15: Two motorcyclists were killed in a road accident in Pangsha Upazila of Rajbari on Wednesday night. The incident occurred around 10:00 pm near Pangsha West Kurapara on the Rajbari-Kushtia regional highway.

Pangsha police station OC Sheikh Mominul Islam said the two motorcyclists were heading toward Pangsha town from the pump area when a truck rammed into their motorcycle from behind. One of the riders, Sajeeb, died instantly at the scene. 

The other rider, Miraj, was critically injured and was taken to the hospital, where the attending physician Dr. Md Rokonuzzaman declared him dead.

The deceased, Miraj, was the son of Ibrahim Hossain, and Sajeeb was the son of Saidul Islam, both residents of Kurapara village. Police said both victims were unemployed youth.

Pangsha Highway Police In-Charge Md Maksudur Rahman Murad said, "I visited the scene and necessary measures are being taken."

Investigation into the accident is ongoing.
