Formal charges against Nanak-Taposh, 26 others submitted

Formal charges have been submitted against 28 individuals, including former textiles and jute minister Jahangir Kabir Nanak and former Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) mayor Sheikh Fazle Noor Taposh, over allegations of crimes against humanity committed in the capital's Mohammadpur area during the July movement.

The charges were submitted on Sunday (January 18) to the registrar of International Crimes Tribunal-1, Prosecutor Gazi MH Tamim confirmed the matter.

He said that the formal charges had been filed against 28 accused in connection with crimes against humanity during the July-August movement in Mohammadpur. Hearing will be held today.
