NETRAKONA, Jan 20: Bangladesh Revolutionary Workers Party candidate Champa Rani Sarkar has called for a level playing field for all parties in the upcoming 13th parliamentary election.

On Tuesday, she organised a press conference at Netrakona District Press Club under the banner of local residents of Netrakona-4 (Madon-Mohanganj-Khaliajuri).

Speaking at the event, Champa Rani said, she wants to serve the people as their representative. "The party has nominated me, but a few officials tried to cancel my candidacy by providing false information. I regained my nomination through appeal. I demand legal action against those responsible," she said, adding that she feels insecure and has urged the administration to ensure her safety.

She further alleged that her nomination was unfairly cancelled during scrutiny on the basis of false cases, later restored through appeal. "I fear more harassment ahead. I call upon the Election Commission and local administration to play a neutral role and ensure equal opportunity for all candidates," she added.

The press conference was attended by Netrakona District Revolutionary Communist Party President Sajib Sarkar Ratan, Vice-President Abul Lahab Lais Uddin, General Secretary Pijosh Kanti Saha, and District Labour Women's Alliance President Lipi Rani Sarkar, among others.
