'Art for Equality' exhibition kicks off at DU

Three-day art exhibition titled 'Art for Equality' started at the Dhaka University (DU), showcasing 90 artworks by teachers, students, and renowned artists from nine universities.

On Wednesday, Vice Chancellor (VC) Professor Dr Niaz Ahmed Khan inaugurated the exhibition organized by Art History department at Zainul Gallery of Fine Arts faculty. Dr Shake Manir Uddin, exhibition curator and department chairman, presided over the event.

Exhibition runs from January 21-23, daily from 9 am to 7:30 pm, at Fine Arts faculty. On Thursday (January 22), three day-long thematic seminars will be held with participation from faculties, students, artists, and researchers.

Special guests at the inauguration included Joris van Bommel, Ambassador of the Kingdom of the Netherlands to Bangladesh; Shabnam Mustari, Additional Secretary of the Ministry of Women and Children Affairs; and Kabita Bose, Country Director of Plan International Bangladesh.
