The individual events of the Teer 16th National Archery Championships 2025 reached a decisive juncture on Thursday as the elimination rounds of the recurve and compound divisions concluded, finalising the line-up for the gold and bronze medal matches at the Archery Training Academy in Tongi.

Organised by the Bangladesh Archery Federation and sponsored by City Group, the second day of competition saw leading archers rise to the occasion, separating the wheat from the chaff as the championship edged closer to its business end.

In the recurve men's individual event, Md Rakib Mia of Bangladesh Air Force continued his authoritative run to advance to the gold medal match, where he will face teammate Ramkrishna Saha.

The bronze medal match was contested between Md Mishad Pradhan and Abdur Rahman Alif, both also representing Bangladesh Air Force, underlining the institution's stronghold in the discipline.

The recurve women's individual category witnessed an all-BKSP gold medal showdown between Monira Akter and Sonali Roy. Meanwhile, Saima Salah Uddin (BKSP) and Tayyeba Akter (BKSP Archery Club) progressed to the bronze medal match after negotiating their elimination encounters.

In the compound men's individual event, Aishwarya Rahman of BKSP booked his place in the gold medal match, where he will lock horns with Nawaz Ahmed Rakib of Bangladesh Archery Federation.

The bronze medal contest will see Md Tarikul Islam Tawhid and Himu Bachhar, both from Bangladesh Air Force, competing for a podium finish.

The compound women's individual event also produced a compelling final pairing, with Bannya Akter of Bangladesh Air Force advancing to the gold medal match alongside Mosammat Kulsum Akter Moni of BKSP.

The bronze medal match featured Tania Rima (Bangladesh Army) against Shriporna Biswas (BKSP).

As per the tournament schedule, all team events' elimination rounds will be held today (Friday), while all individual medal matches, including gold and bronze finals, will take place on Saturday.

With the elimination rounds now complete, the championship enters its final stretch where nerve, nuance and precision will decide who ultimately stands tallest on the podium.
