Teenager electrocuted in Feni

A teenager died after being electrocuted on a field in Sonagazi upazila of Feni district on Friday night.

The deceased was identified as Sayeed Hossain Noor, 16, son of Nasir Ahmed of Satabaria area under Motiganj union in the upazila. He was a Class X student of Motiganj R M Hat K High School.

According to locals, Sayeed was playing mini-bar football on a field beside Hekim Doctor’s house in Satabaria around 9:00 PM.

After the game ended, he attempted to disconnect an electric line and was electrocuted due to carelessness, collapsing on the spot.

Later, other youths present at the scene rushed him to Sonagazi Upazila Health Complex, where the on-duty doctors declared him dead.

Sonagazi Model Police Station officer-in-charge (OC) Md Kamrul Islam confirmed the death and said that the deceased’s family has not filed any complaint.
