Drugs, weapons recovered, 3 held in Pirojpur

PIROJPUR, Jan 29: In a joint operation early Thursday morning, police and members of the Mathbaria Army Camp recovered illegal drugs and locally-made weapons, arresting three individuals.

Acting on military intelligence, a team from the Mathbaria camp, led by Major Mostafa Kamal, conducted a raid in the Tuskhali area of the upazila. The operation resulted in the arrest of three alleged drug dealers: Md. Raqib, 24, son of Afjal Hossain from Tuskhali Village; Asad, 26, son of Milon; and Nur Alam, 32, son of Ful Mia, both from Choto Mashua Village.

The security forces seized 110 yaba pills, 20 grams of hashish, a walkie-talkie set, three gas lighters, three smartphones, two button-like objects (potentially weapon parts), one national ID card, and three ramdaos (local blades) from the arrested individuals.

Camp Commander Major Mostafa Kamal confirmed that the process of filing a case in connection with the raid is underway at the Mathbaria Army Camp.
