SUST student drowns in Sylhet

A student of Shahjalal University of Science and Technology (SUST) has drowned in Lalakhal Zero Point area of Sylhet district on Friday afternoon. 

The deceased was identified as Mohammad Musab Amin, 28, son of Mohammad Shahidur Rahman from Sokhipur village under Kaliakair upazila of Gazipur district. He was a student of the Electrical and Electronic Engineering (EEE) department of the 2022-23 academic session.

According to eyewitnesses, Musab went missing at around 1 PM on Friday in the Lalakhal Zero Point area. Immediately after the incident, locals and authorities attempted to locate him.

Later at 4 PM, Fire Service and diving team conducted a rescue operation, recovered his body and rushed it to Jaintiapur Upazila Health Complex, where the on-duty doctors declared him dead.

Jaintiapur Model Police Station officer-in-charge (OC) Mohammad Mahbubur Rahman Mollah confirmed the incident and said that legal procedures are underway.
