N'GANJ, Feb 7: Police recovered the body of Kamrun Nahar Iti, missing for nine days, from a locked beauty parlor in Amlapara area of Narayanganj on Friday afternoon.
The parlor, "Pari Beauty Parlor," was searched after residents reported a foul smell coming from the premises.
The Crime Scene Unit of CID collected evidence from the site. Iti's family alleged that her husband, Anwar Hossain Sentu, killed her. Sentu, a resident of Masdair Jamal's garage area in Fatulla, was taken into custody in connection with the case.
Relatives said Iti's husband was addicted to drugs and often tortured her for money. She had been missing since January 28.
Despite repeated warnings, her husband reportedly showed no concern. On Friday, the parlor owner alerted police and family members when the odor worsened. Police broke the parlor door and found Iti's body in the toilet.
Sadar Model police SI Delwar said the body was recovered and the husband arrested. Further details will be released after the investigation.
